Every uploaded video subtitled in three languages — automatically, before it goes live.
A European VoD platform uses Enveu Flow to automate their entire subtitle pipeline. Every time a new video is uploaded, Flow extracts the audio, transcribes it, translates the transcript into Spanish, Catalan, and English, and delivers the subtitle files back to the video platform — without any manual intervention from the operations team.
The challenge
The platform hosts a growing library of VoD content — educational programmes, cultural content, and entertainment — serving audiences across Spanish and Catalan-speaking regions as well as English-speaking viewers.
Every video needed subtitles in all three languages before it could be published. The previous process required the operations team to manually extract audio from each upload, send it to a transcription service, wait for the output, route it to translators for each language, receive the translated files, format them into subtitle files, and upload each one back to the video platform individually.
With a growing volume of uploads and a multilingual audience that expected subtitles as standard, the manual process was becoming a bottleneck. Delays in subtitle delivery meant delays in content going live. The team needed a reliable, repeatable pipeline that could handle every upload automatically — regardless of volume.
The solution
The team configured a single end-to-end workflow in Enveu Flow that triggers automatically whenever a new video is uploaded to their video platform.
Workflow — Automated Multilingual Subtitle Pipeline: When a video upload is detected, Flow extracts the audio track and sends it to a transcription service, which generates a full text transcript of the spoken content. Flow then routes that transcript simultaneously to a translation engine for each of the three target languages — Spanish, Catalan, and English. Once all three translations are returned, Flow formats each one into a subtitle file and uploads it directly back to the corresponding video on the platform, attached to the correct language track.
The entire pipeline — from upload trigger to subtitle delivery — runs without any team member needing to intervene. The operations team no longer monitors uploads, manages file routing, or handles individual subtitle uploads. Every video arrives on the platform subtitle-ready.
